Rustic Plantation

"Rustic plantations" is a magnificient countryside sanctuary of nearly 100 acres of rural farmland. This scenic plantation, nestled in the valley beneath the foothills of Western Ghats, is situated in the north east part of Goa. For last 12 years, this is the home of Mrs. Ujwala and Sham Achrekar and their two sons.

You will find many fruit trees like Cashew, Mango, Banana, Guava, Chikoo, Papaya etc, along with timber trees like Teak and Acacia Mangium and variety of spices like Pepper, Nutmeg and Clove.

When you've had enough of beaches, or you need to get away from the madding crowd, drop everything and come over to "Rustic Plantations". Situated in a beautiful lush green valley, on the north east part of Goa, just one day at this 100 acre working plantation will be a rejuvenating experience of your lifetime.

You will be welcomed in the Indian Traditional way of "Aarti and Kumkum". Tender coconut water will be offered to refresh you. Take a leisurely walk in the plantation to see many different fruit trees, spices and vegetables guided by your host. This small walk will lead to a fresh water stream and a tree house.

Then the guests will be taken back to the restaurant for a totally health oriented steaming hot lunch. It will be served on banana leaf in the Indian traditional way and will consist of two starters, sprouted and leafy vegetables, chicken in gravy, fish/ prawn curry, rice, chappatis and desert. A variety of home made pickles and chutneys will accompany these. Originally grown farm fresh fruits will also be made available.

Learn the fine art of Indian traditional cooking from Mrs. Ujwala Achrekar, the hostess herself. "Rangoli" traditional Indian floor painting using coloured powder,
"Henna" traditional Indian body painting using herbs, Enjoy the traditional local dances by village girls, "The art of weaving flower garlands".

Learn the delicate art of draping a traditional Indian saree, a sufficient number of saris and Indian costume jewellery will be made available to female guests who would like to drape them we also provide salwar kurta and turban for the gentlemen. Photographs can be taken in Indian costumes to take home.

Go back in the past riding in a bullock cart (optional). Visit the sunset point to see the panoramic view of the valleys and the Western ghats. Try tea and some fresh snacks. you will spend the night in a tent, have dinner under the stars, enjoy yourself around the campfire or see the stars and different constellations. An added attraction would be a palmist/ astrologer, available on direct payment.

Wake up to the chirping of the birds and glorious sounds of nature around you, refreshed, rejuvenated and at peace with yourself. Learn the basics of yoga and stress relief from a professional with live demonstrations. Or go for a nature trail. Have a delicious Indian breakfast after this.
